The latest dress designs from
Andres Aquino are an amalgam of
classic lines with silhouettes inspired
by the glamour of Hollywood’s
golden age of the 1930’s and 40’s.

The collection, presented at New
York’s famed Waldorf-Astoria during
Couture Fashion Week in
September 2006, is a brilliantly
colored symphony of silk
charmeuse and silk chiffon.

The cocktail dresses and gowns are
perfect evening options for the
woman who loves accessories like
gorgeous jewelry, hats and scarves;
a contemporary, active and practical
woman, who is also sensual and
stylish.

Transforms
the Little Black Dress
into Luxurious Color

The collection represents wearable couture and an evolution of the so-called “little black dress.”  Mr. Aquino’s designs draw from his experience and involvement in multiple aspects of the fashion industry since 1997, from photography to show production, to accessory sales and everything in between, as well as his travels around the world.  Mr. Aquino is seeking to fill the need he sees for dresses that are perfect backdrops for accessories.

Accessories accompanying the fashion show in September 2006 included hats by Miranda Green Millinery of Australia and handcrafted jewelry by Maja Schulz of Ecuador and Austria.

“I believe each woman is in some way a fashion designer,” he notes. “A designer creates a concept, but it is the woman wearing the gown who makes the final decision as to how she wants to wear it and bring it to life choosing the finishing touches of jewelry, bag, hat, and shoes that are complimentary to the gown.”
