| Spotlight on Jenny Saldaña When Jenny Saldaña is not writing a play, directing, or acting, she’s lighting up the room- as a inspirational speaker. She’s an actress turned playwright turned motivational speaker. But most importantly she’s a Breast Cancer Survivor! BC Jenny she calls herself. Also the name of her play: Pink: the Chronicles of BC Jenny. She’s feisty; she’s funny; she’s a ball of fire; and she’s fearless. Unafraid and unabashed, she openly discusses her brush with shhhhh “the C word”. When I first met her she explained, “You know that the day after you’re diagnosed with breast cancer, you are considered a survivor? …. Yeah. Think about it. You survived one more day.” I looked at her perplexed. She continues, “This is not according to me. This is the guideline for the American Cancer Society.” Well, according to our guidelines, Jenny Saldaña is a - Diva Latina! |
